Jimmy
Driver
Jimmy began his professional training under
Progressive Equine®, LLC in 2001. Jimmy has been around horses for thirty
years riding for fun, in trail rides to showing Tennessee Walking
Horses. Jimmy has been a member of the AL Menah Shrine Horse Patrol
for over eighteen years. Jimmy has acquired knowledge in
working with horses and their owners through hours of study of horsemen and women and how horses respond. Jimmy brings his love for horses along with over twenty five years experience of teaching in the medical field together with this knowledge
together providing his clients with the ultimate educational experience.
Jimmy's philosophy is that he has just started learning and that everyone can learn from
studying and riding with as many clinicians as you can. All clinicians
basically teach the same techniques but utilize different terms. The difference in all clinicians is their personalities, that is why Jimmy continues to observe all clinicians he can in order to evaluate if there is a better way to teach the horse. This, the
pursuit for more knowledge, is what Jimmy feels is the difference between a horseman and a horse trainer. Jimmy strives to teach horse owners that they can teach their horse to do anything they want with only basic equipment (halter, lead, bridle, saddle and pad) and by riding with your horse not against your horse. . All horses, from horses ridden just for fun, to the highly
competitive horse must have a good foundation. You must also learn how to ride where yuou help or allow your horse to move not block their movements. Jimmy takes horses in for training, however; he feels that if the owner is not in direct participation in the training then they will not be able to obtain the performance they are looking for. Jimmy began a very active program conducting clinics anywhere he can get riders
interested in learning. He also started a Horsemanship Program where he strives to teach people how to work with more than just one horse. Jimmy tries to give his clients what they need for a Safe and Fun experience, without a lot of information that they will never use.Jimmy has horses he has worked with that have gone on to become some of the top point earners in all breed Drassage to entering the race track, demonstrating how a Good Foundation
can be taken to what ever level you wish. Jimmy became a member of AQHA's Professional
Horseman's Association in 2006.
